There was excitement in the air at Liberty Elementary as Dr. Gainey made a special visit to Liberty Elementary School—and he didn’t just stop by to say hello. Instead, he jumped right into the action, joining Mrs. Shue’s first-grade class for three lively rounds of 99Math.
From the moment the games began, the classroom was filled with energy, laughter, and a little friendly competition. Students eagerly solved math problems, racing to improve their speed and accuracy while trying to outscore their special guest. Mrs. Shue cheered them on as her students showcased both their math skills and their enthusiasm for learning.
Dr. Gainey proved to be a great sport, encouraging students as they played and celebrating their successes along the way. In one standout moment, a proud student exclaimed, “I beat you!” after earning the title of most accurate player—bringing smiles and laughter to everyone in the room.
The visit was more than just a game—it was a powerful reminder that learning can be fun, engaging, and full of memorable moments. Experiences like this not only strengthen students’ confidence in math but also show them that their leaders are invested in their success. At Liberty Elementary, it was a day where learning and laughter went hand in hand—and one these first graders won’t soon forget.
